Drummer, Producer and Traveler, Jason Lee Bruns leads Los Angeles-based 10pc retro-soul ensemble Bruns & Baché. They have performed several times at “Jazz at LACMA” (2019, 2022, 2024), top L.A. venues including Catalina Jazz Club and Vibrato, and two Japan tours (2017, 2019).
Bruns is the founder of the Campbell Hall World Music and Recording Arts programs. There he is the musical director of two 18-piece steel bands, two World Drumming ensembles and three levels of Recording Arts & Productions, which offers AVID ProTools certification.
Bruns has self-produced twelve albums with two on Top-10 charts and airing on 300+ radio shows nationwide, including L.A.’s KKJZ 88.1FM. Notable collaborations include Beck, Louis Price, Liane Carroll, and a Game of Thrones commercial. He is a Voting Member of the Recording Academy (i.e. Grammy Awards).
Bruns holds a Bachelor’s in Classical Percussion (Miami University), a Master’s in Jazz Studies (USC) and a Master’s Certificate in Music Production (Berklee). He has traveled international to study influential folkloric percussion traditions first-hand in 12 indigenous regions.

Recorded by retro-soul band BRUNS & BACHÉ, Ballroom‘s unique soundtrack stands as a piece of art on its own. Popular dance music from the 1920s & 30s is reimagined with BACHÉ’s creative arrangements and BRUNS’ modern production vision. The band’s driving energy, commanding rock vocals, powerful horn section, soulful backing vocals, and virtuosic solos create a soundscape ideal for the film’s passionate choreography and inspirational storyline. Special guests musicians include Brazilian sensation Nathi, Sergio Mendez guitarist Kleber Jorge, Phil Collins vocalist Amy Keys, and Katisse Buckingham from Anchorman‘s iconic “Yazz Flute” scene. Recorded at the famous Sunset Sound in Hollywood, CA.

13 songs recorded by the Bruns & Baché all-star lineup at the famous East West Studio Two (e.g. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beach Boys, Whitney Houston, Metallica) on Sunset Blvd., in Hollywood, California. These songs will be a part of the group’s next three releases including a 6 song L.P. of all originals entitled “Get Back”, a 5 song Cuban-inspired tribute E.P. entitled “Tribute con Salsa” featuring Andy Garcia on bongos, and a two sided/song 45 RPM Holiday vinyl.
